Snowbreeze received an update today to new version Sn0wbreeze 2.9.7. This new version of Sn0wbreeze brings in support for iOS 6.0 and iOS 6.0.1. Snowbreeze 2.9.7 is for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and also the iPod Touch 4th Gen.

Please note, this is not the untethered Jailbreak many are waiting for. This new Sn0wbreeeze is still a tethered boot except for the iPhone 3GS old boot room. There is good news that comes for SAM users, however. The SAM is built into it for iOS 6 hacktivations. For those that are unaware, hacktivated iPhone can boot semi-tethered once activated!

There are a few things users must be wary of is that this version of Sn0wbreeze is only available for Windows users due to the way it must be installed. The only thing is that it’s not yet available for Windows 8 users the same way. Instead, Windows 8 users will need to use this walk around the guide.

The next bug involved with Sn0wbreeze is that any iPad running iOS 4 to iOS 4.2.1 will have a baseband that will not flash so don’t try this version of Sn0wbreeze.

The last known bug, also regarding iOS 4 all the way through to iOS 5 (iOS 5 is fine) on the iPod Touch will fail to restore.

If you plan on downgrading your device, please read the following: For downgrading download the iPSW for your device and then use the iFaith Mode. It will prompt you to bring up your IPSW once you browse for SHSH Blobs.

For a complete guide on how to install Sn0wbreeze 2.9.7 stay tuned because I will be writing it up as soon as I finish this post! I will post the link to the tutorial inside here, or you can check our main site page.
