Being a power tripper as a human being is not a good thing. It is somebody who feels like they need to have more power all the time because they feel like it somehow makes them happier. That kind of person is very displeasing to be around.
When it comes to operating systems on the other hand things are different. It is entirely reasonable to want to have more power over the operating system because there are practical reasons for that. For instance, you can choose what to install and what to uninstall on the Samsung Galaxy A5 smartphone if you have the most power over the operating system as possible. That kind of authority is what you get when you root the device.
There can be a few ways to get root access on the Samsung Galaxy smartphones, and the way you choose is often just whatever you find available. We aim to change that in the future by offering each unique way and making all of those ways visible to you when you click one of our guides. The guide here uses Chainfire’s SuperSU which is the way that requires for you to have a custom recovery installed. The other ways which involve using one-click rooting tools do not require a custom recovery image to be installed on the device first, and that might be something to think about if you wanted to keep the stock recovery.
Notes:
- You need to have a custom recovery installed on the Samsung Galaxy A5 SM-A510F smartphone before you can follow this guide and get root access using Chainfire’s SuperSU app.
Download SuperSU
- Download the SuperSU app by Chainfire that roots the device.
How To Root Samsung Galaxy A5 SM-A510F On Android 6.0.1 Using SuperSU
- Download the SuperSU app directly to the computer from the file section above.
- Connect the Samsung Galaxy A5 SM-A510F smartphone to the computer with the USB cable that you use for charging.
- Open the folder where your file downloaded (The Downloads folder by default for Windows users) and copy the file over to the internal storage SD card. (Make sure you do copy the file and not just drag it over to the SD card folder or else it might not work).
- Unplug the Samsung Galaxy A5 SM-A510F smartphone from the computer and then reboot it into the Recovery Mode and the custom recovery image will boot up.
- Choose to take the NANDroid backup from the recovery menu before you get started if you haven’t taken a backup already.
- Click the install option from the Recovery menu and then browse through to the SD card storage and select the SuperSU zip file that you transferred there earlier.
- Follow the instructions on the display that install the SuperSU zip file.
- Choose the “Reboot” followed by the “System” option from the main Recovery menu.
That is how to root the Samsung Galaxy A5 SM-A510F smartphone running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow software updates by flashing a version of Chainfire’s SuperSU app.
Now that you have installed the custom recovery image and flashed the SuperSU application onto the Samsung Galaxy A5 SM-A510F smartphone, you have full control to do anything you want. That means installing any of the root applications—and there are thousands of them waiting to be on your device. Additionally, it means you can check out any custom ROMs that you might want to install.
The custom recovery image is what has given you the chance to start installing the ROMs. You can check out the ROMs available from XDA-Developers and flash them manually yourself through the custom recovery image without having root access. The root access is what allows you to start installing the additional applications that would not otherwise run on your device.
The thing about the root apps is that you either need to know the names of the already or be prepared to spend copious amounts of time lurking through the Google Play Store trying to find them. There is not a front page of the Google Play Store that gives you a list of the trending applications that require root access like there is for the official apps that you can install.
The good news is that we have an extensive list of the best root applications that you can install on the Android operating system. You can read up on the one’s that you want tp try and then click the download links that are available on the same page to find out how to install them.
