Today Apple announced the new iPad 4 not long after announcing the all new iPad Mini which proved not to be so mini after all- but that’s another story.
This story is more about a fan’s take on the latest Apple announcement, and that is, did that really just happen?
Did Apple really just announce an entirely new iPad only six months after the release of the previous iPad? Yes, they did.
Did Apple just pack in twice the speed and components that whip the old iPad’s behind in such a short amount of time? Yes they did
It begs the age-old question (that I have been answering for years now) did Apple already have this technology behind closed doors?
Is Apple purely on a business venture taking advantage of its customers?
Well to answer both questions – yes they do, and yes they are, and it has Apple fans – or now former fans until they calm down at least- peeved off about it.
So, did Apple just shoot themselves in the foot by doing what they did today?
Apple spent a lot of time talking the new iPad up over Google and competitors, but they didn’t mention how much more expensive the iPad mini is. So, if you’re wondering and were listening don’t listen to these Apple spokespeople, devices like the kindle and nexus are great value for money.
In saying that, this new iPad mini is only just a few dollars more expensive than the iPod Touch that was just released a month or so ago. Who is going to be buying an iPad Touch when you can buy an iPad mini for virtually the same price?
Apple may have made a few mistakes today, only time will tell.
There is some relief for annoyed fans: the iPad 4 is not expected to be available until December.
