What Is Redtube.com?

Redtube (redtube.com) is a porn tube site and one of the most trafficked porn tube sites in the world. It is also one of the longest-running porn tube sites. In 2009, the site redtube.com held an Alexa rank suggestive of it being a top 100 trafficked website in the world. Redtube is owned by Mindgeek, the same parent company as Brazzers, Pornhub, YouPorn, and Xtube.

As of February 2023, the site redtube.com gets an estimated 118.6 million monthly views. The Wayback Machine estimates that redtube.com was founded on August 31, 2001. However, after being online briefly in 2001 and at the beginning of 2002, it didn’t get saved by the Wayback Machine again until 2007, suggesting the domain may have changed owners in that time or just gone offline between 2002 and 2007.

Is Redtube.com Safe?

I ran malware tests to find out if redtube.com is safe and legit. Here are the results:

I checked the site redtube.com on the online malware scanner Sucuri and it returned with no issues. You can see the same here: Sucuri scan for the site redtube.com.

Redtube.com Sucuri results

Sucuri says the site redtube.com doesn’t have any malware. Sucuri also says that the site redtube.com isn’t blacklisted on any of the 9 blacklists checked.

Some hardening improvements can be made to the site redtube.com. It doesn’t have a website firewall and the following security headers need fixing:

  • Missing security header for ClickJacking Protection. Alternatively, you can use Content-Security-Policy: frame-ancestors ‘none’. Affected pages:
    https://www.redtube.com/_xa/ads_batch?ads=true&clientType=mobile&channel[context_page_type]=home&channel[site]=redtube&site_id=16&device_type=tablet&hbresp=header&hb=B475961D-4BF7-4E67-A5CC-484D3DF5CB9F&data=[{“spots”:[{“zone”:11531},{“zone”:11571}]}]&dm=www.redtube.com/_xa
  • Missing security header to prevent Content Type sniffing.
  • Missing Strict-Transport-Security security header.
  • Missing Content-Security-Policy directive. We recommend to add the following CSP directives (you can use default-src if all values are the same): script-src, object-src, base-uri, frame-src

However, these hardening improvements don’t impact the Sucuri grade.

To check this further I ran a parasite scan with Unmask Parasites on the site redtube.com and the page is clean. You can see the same here: Unmask Parasites scan for the site redtube.com.

To try to confirm that the site is clean, I checked the domain redtube.com on VirusTotal and no security vendor has flagged the domain as malicious. You can see the same here: VirusTotal scan for the site redtube.com.

Redtube.com VirusTotal results

In conclusion, the site redtube.com doesn’t have malware and is an overall low security risk according to Sucuri. Sucuri also says that the site redtube.com hasn’t been blacklisted by any associated security vendor. Unmask Parasites says the site redtube.com is clean of parasites. And VirusTotal says no security vendors have flagged the domain redtube.com as malicious. Overall, the site redtube.com looks very safe.
