Similar Web is a data aggregation website where you can find information and statistics regarding a particular website and its competitors.
Similar Web was founded by Or Offer in 2007 in Tel Aviv, Israel. Today it is a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange.
Similar Web has many features. Some of the more commonly used are to check how much traffic a website gets from Google, the bounce rate, and the average time on site per page view.
Similar Web also ranks websites from most popular to least popular and has replaced the Alexa Rank. There is a Similar Web toolbar you can install as a browser extension that also replaced the Alexa toolbar. Amazon deprecated Alexa when Similar Web had become more reliable for assessing a site’s keywords. Since Amazon Alexa was deprecated, Similar Web has continued to grow rapidly.
