If your computer is redirecting to the search.standartnet.com domain, it’s because there is adware installed. Some adware is trickier than others to remove. The quick fix is always to remove it from the browser. If the redirect continues to come back, it means there are leftover remnants on your machine that can only be cleaned with an antimalware program.
Here is everything you need to remove the search.standartnet.com redirect.
Remove Adware/Browser Hijackers from Chrome
Google Chrome is the most used web browser, regardless of your computer’s operating system. Thankfully you can remove common malware from Chrome with its built-in tools. As mentioned, this isn’t always enough, and you may need to run an antimalware scan as well. But here is how to remove the redirect from Chrome:
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- Click on the Settings and more link in the top right corner.
- Click on Advanced > Reset and clean up > Clean up computer.
- Click Find.
- If Chrome finds any malware, click Remove.
You can also reset the Chrome settings which is wise to do after having malware on your computer just in case it has changed them. Here is how to do that:

The search.standartnet.com domain doesn’t load anymore. So at least we know this site doesn’t use rogue software. It’s also likely that it won’t get bundled into many files as adware anymore since the domain doesn’t load. But it’s possible it’s just the sub domain at the beginning of the address that is no longer working and that perhaps the domain itself could be continued to be used by the developer of this malware. Time will tell.
