Microsoft has introduced the Edge Bar in Edge 98. The Edge Bar is similar to the News and Interests widget that you get access to from the taskbar in Windows 11, but there are some differences.
The Edge Bar offers four separate sections: news, Bing, Outlook mail, and LinkedIn. The last three are entirely new experiences that you don’t get with the widgets section from the taskbar. Additionally, there’s also an option to search Bing from the top of the Edge Bar box.
If you were to open another webpage in your browser — or even another browser entirely — without having chosen to close the Edge Bar, you’ll notice a new Edge icon in the bottom right of your display. This is the clickable Edge Bar icon that will open the bar once again so you can see it.
You can open the Edge Bar by opening the Edge browser and navigating to the Settings > Edge Bar > Open Edge Bar.
