DESCRIPTION

The homepage said “Discover a place you’ll love to live” above a search box. In the search box was already written my nearest city (Melbourne, Australia). There were three tabs above the search field: buy, rent, sold. The default settings were set to “buy.” I took this to mean that buying is either the most popular thing to do or what trulia.com would like me to do because it is more lucrative for them. In the menu at the top of the page were similar links for buying, renting, and this time, mortgaging. And when I hovered over each, there were submenus. My impression was that there were extensive options for buying, renting, and mortgaging a home on trulia.com. Scrolling below the fold showed an option to explore homes on trulia.com. There were pictures of homes all over the US and brief descriptions regarding where those homes were located, i.e., Atlanta, Georgia. No specific addresses were shown. At the bottom of the page was an option to see how trulia.com can help and again, there were three options for this, and collectively they were slightly different to any previous three options. This time, the options were for buying a home, renting a home, and seeing neighborhoods.
