Is nhentai.net Safe?

I conducted a series of malware tests to find out if nhentai.net is safe and legit. Here are the results:

I installed the Malwarebytes Browser Guard on my Edge browser and was able to browse the site nhentai.net without any issues.

To check this further I ran malware scans with Malwarebytes and Spybot on my computer after browsing the site nhentai.net and they returned no malware detection. I also ran a system-wide scan with Microsoft Defender and no malware was found.

To try to confirm that the site is clean, I also checked the site nhentai.net on the online malware scanner Sucuri and it returned with no major issues. You can see the same here: Sucuri scan for the site nhentai.net.

The scan on the domain failed and wasn’t able to determine if there was malware or not on the site which is why it gave it a medium security risk grade. However, we can see that no security vendor has blacklisted the site which suggests there isn’t any sign of malware.

Some improvements can be made on the domain such as adding a website firewall to prevent hacks and solving the missing security headers listed below:

Missing security header to prevent Content Type sniffing.

Missing Strict-Transport-Security security header.

Missing Content-Security-Policy directive. We recommend to add the following CSP directives (you can use default-src if all values are the same): script-src, object-src, base-uri, frame-src

However, we know from experience that these are considered minor issues and wouldn’t change the overall grade of the scan from being a medium security risk.

Lastly, we ran a malware scan with VirusTotal on the domain nhentai.net and no security vendor has flagged the site as malicious. You can see the same here: VirusTotal scan for the site nhentai.net.

nhentai.net VirusTotal results

In conclusion, the site nhentai.net is considered a medium security risk because the malware scan failed [due to the server purposefully blocking it]. This can be a red flag which is why it gets the medium security risk grade. However, on a positive note, we can see that no security vendor has flagged the site as malicious.
