Is Kayak.com Safe?

I ran malware tests to find out if kayak.com is safe and legit. Here are the results:

I checked the site kayak.com on the online malware scanner Sucuri and it returned with no major issues. You can see the same here: Sucuri scan for the site kayak.com.

Kayak.com Sucuri results

Sucuri says the site kayak.com doesn’t have malware; however, there was a 400 Bad Request site issue detected on the URL http://kayak.com/.git/HEAD.

Even with this issue, Sucuri says the site kayak.com is a low security risk.

Some hardening improvements can be made:

  • Missing security header for ClickJacking Protection. Alternatively, you can use Content-Security-Policy: frame-ancestors 'none'.
  • Missing Strict-Transport-Security security header.
  • Missing Content-Security-Policy directive. We recommend to add the following CSP directives (you can use default-src if all values are the same): script-src, object-src, base-uri, frame-src

However, these hardening improvements don’t impact the Sucuri grade.

To check this further I ran a parasite scan with Unmask Parasites on the site kayak.com and it says the page is clean. You can see the same here: Unmask Parasites scan for the site kayak.com.

To try to confirm that the site is clean, I checked the domain kayak.com on VirusTotal and it says no security vendor has flagged the domain as malicious. You can see the same here: VirusTotal scan for the site kayak.com.

Kayak.com VirusTotal results

In conclusion, the site kayak.com doesn’t have malware and is a low security risk according to Sucuri; however, it did return a 400 Bad Request site issue during the Sucuri scan. Unmask Parasites says the site kayak.com is clean of parasites. And VirusTotal and Sucuri say the domain kayak.com isn’t blacklisted or flagged as malicious by any security vendor.
