Gelbooru (gelbooru.com) is a hentai manga site offering free hentai and anime videos, images, and wallpapers. Upon first visiting Gelbooru, it looks like a porn search engine. But there are links next to the search box that leads you to a more typical anime site.

DESCRIPTION
The homepage of gelbooru.com had a small search box above the fold with hints of anime surrounding it. There were eight anime characters beneath the search field each holding up a number. It wasn’t exactly clear to me what these numbers represented; however, I assumed they were numbers that were meant to be read together and the total number may have been the total number of visits gelbooru.com has received to date. I wouldn’t be able to test that necessarily because it may be unique views and only count my view once which wouldn’t be uncommon (that is what YouTube does today). The search field offered a suggestive term which I ignored because I wanted to test the depth of the search engine by using my own terms. And I was pleasantly surprised that even some of my general terms unrelated to the suggestion did return plenty of content. On the left side of the image results were tags and the tags showed me the number of pictures within the tag. I thought the tags here were useful navigation not only because I could click them directly but also because they helped give me ideas as to what content I could expect to find on the site. I didn’t want to be searching for random terms all the time after all.

Gelbooru is similar to Danbooru. Their names are very similar too. Maybe they are owned by the same people. There are many images on Gelbooru that you can browse via tags and pools. Gelbooru is better than Danbooru if you want free content. Danbooru has a lot of premium content. I am not suggesting the content is the same but free on Gelbooru. Just that the content in general is free on Gelbooru whereas on Danbooru you have to pay for most of the good stuff.
Gelbooru is like a search engine for images and in particular anime images. I know people who love this site for its hentai.
