PayPal (paypal.com) is a financial services company that lets you connect your bank account to it and then pay online without sharing financial details. You can send money to other people or pay merchants without needing to do anything but log in to your PayPal account. For it to work, you first need to sign up for PayPal and connect your bank account to its website. PayPal is the most common method for shopping online thanks to its ability for shoppers to checkout and pay for goods without having to share credit card details. As a freelance writer, I have been paid for my work via PayPal for many years (since 2011). And I always checkout with PayPal when I am shopping online every time I see the option. I may not buy something unless PayPal is available as a payment method on a site.

DESCRIPTION
When I analyzed paypal.com, there wasn’t much above the fold except a message mentioning trust and then a promotional social giveaway for customers who use the pay-in-4 option. I recommend sharing more of a general message regarding what PayPal is and what it does above the fold to attract new customers. I have been using PayPal for decades but know of many people still yet to use it. I liked the use of dark blue in the brand which is a color that signifies trust. I also liked that the signup and login buttons where in the top right corner, which is the location people expect to find them. Notably, there was no mention of the fees associated with transferring money or accepting payments via PayPal. I recommend showing what your rates are on the homepage so people can easily compare you to the competition.
