However, the onlyfans.com homepage had an advantage: I could scroll below the fold and see some of the recent posts on OnlyFans, and the posts weren’t what you might be expecting: I saw women teaching me how to do handstands, women teaching me how to pot plants, and men giving me survival tips. Was this going to turn into something like Naked News? The further I scrolled, the riskier the clothing items became. The Wayback Machine estimates that onlyfans.com was founded on April 28, 2001; however, according to the founder of the present-day OnlyFans site, it was founded in November 2016. The Internet Archive supports this date as it shows minimal saves between 2001 and 2016 and then as of the start of 2017, it was saved much more frequently.

OnlyFans is a website where fans can easily connect with creators (and by creators, I mean people who share pictures and videos of themselves, usually as sexualized content). OnlyFans has managed to get famous athletes and celebrities who you never would have imagined seeing naked to get naked because the financial returns for them are so lucrative to do so. I was shocked when everyone around the world created an Instagram account and shared pictures of themselves. I am ten times more surprised that OnlyFans managed to get many of them naked.

OnlyFans used to be a place where good-looking amateurs made money. Then it became so popular that even celebrities started creating accounts to make money even after they were already rich. Celebrities such as Iggy Azalea, Larsa Pippen, and Demi Rose have OnlyFans accounts.

One of the reasons celebrities have Onlyfans accounts is to share pictures and get paid directly for them. They used to get paparazzi to take photos of them because it made them more famous when they did it. But since it was paparazzi taking the photos, the celebrities didn't make any money directly from this. Most of the pictures you see on sites like thefappeningblog.com are paparazzi pictures or pictures taken directly from the celeb's OnlyFans accounts.
