If you want to develop on the Windows operating system with your Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphone and adb debugging, you need the Samsung USB driver.

You can download the Samsung driver provided by Samsung. Moreover, you could install the universal adb driver instead which includes the Samsung driver in it.

Sometimes you may also be able to install the driver provided by the manufacturer of your smartphone’s processor. The Samsung Galaxy S23 comes with a Snapdragon processor for example which means you may be able to use the Qualcomm driver.

Installing the Samsung driver for the Samsung Galaxy S23 is done by opening File Explorer > Downloads folder and double-clicking on the executable file. If you download the universal adb driver instead, it’s a zip file and needs to be unzipped by right-clicking on it and clicking Unzip from the context menu. Windows 11 makes you click Show more options before it gives the unzip option.
