The iPhone 5S now comes with fully unlocked privileges according to 9 to 5 Mac who managed to scoop this deal up swiftly. That means it will not have the usual carrier restrictions when you buy it. This is normal and happens every year, but it takes a few months before they do it. Of course, there are certain restrictions still, such as you have to be inside of the United States to get it. This is where friends overseas come in handy!
If you want to buy this one it will set you back $649.99 for the 16GB version. There is another higher memory version available, but this is as low as it goes for now.
We have posted several articles about the waiting period spiraling downwards for the flagship iPhone. That eventually got down to 3-5 days all up. That isn’t the case with these unlocked versions, however, because they are being classed as a separate entity all together. A little frustrating, but it is what it is now. Apple has issued a waiting time of 2-3 weeks. Still, that’s a fraction of the time when compared to the first release on carriers. It includes the popular Gold colored phone.
