After being announced on the 1st of April, this new L series phone was talked about in a negative way by many because of it is lackluster specs, but it is important to remember what price bracket this phone falls into and distinguish if it is a good buy for the price or a bad one. That is what I will break down for you today.
The first feature that sounds out is the Snapdragon 20 processor. It is a “lightweight” system chip that won’t be anywhere near as powerful as what we see in today’s flagship smartphone and that is what has attracted the most attention. However, looking past hat, it does run Android 4.4 Kitkat out of the box so it will be pre-installed on the device when you buy it. It is virtually unheard of and when it comes to things a standard user is going to notice this software will trump the processing power any day of the week. It is essentially a great part of the deal. Moreover, it is capable of handling the highest data speed of 4G.
This smartphone was released in Europe and Asia and one of its main selling points is the fact that it is a Dual SIM device. It is important for people who travel between two or more countries because in many of the places around Europe it is illegal to use the same SIM card.
If you are a person who travels or resides between countries and you want a budget smartphone that does everything you expect a budget phone to do without having any top-end specs this becomes a very smart buy. It has the Dual SIM, it has the latest software, it has a 5 megapixel camera is more than capable of creating decent happy snaps. It also comes with panorama mode, LED and a front-facing camera with 0.3 megapixels. I have personally never seen such low specs on the front camera before, however, they are always a lot less than the rear. Even though it is the Snapdragon 200 it is still a Dual-core 1200 MHz processor that also is equipped with 1024 MB RAM so the performance will not be bad for the average user. The display is 4.3 inches in size and that is very similar to the iPhone in front of me right now. I like the size although we are predicting screens to grow bigger than today’s standard in the coming years.
I am not sure if the parts of Asia that this handset is being released for are confronted with many of the same laws as Eurpeans are facing with the SIM card, but if they are, then this is also an attractive buy for the same reason.
