I thought more content could have been visible above the fold on plex.tv. For a domain with lots of TV shows and movies, there should be no shortage of opportunities to showcase many of the best shows plex.tv has to offer in thumbnails like what justwatch.com managed to create with their homepage. When it comes to streaming sites, it’s best to utilize the homepage as much as possible and increase user engagement as much as possible because it helps increase the time spent on site and click-through rate signals which tell search engines that a domain has great content. You want users clicking through various thumbnails to see what people are watching recently etc. I think some sites try for a minimal approach because they think it will increase the likelihood of someone signing into an account. However, I think the more content shown on the homepage, the higher the chance of a user signing up to try to watch it. Apart from that, I liked the plex.tv homepage.
