DESCRIPTION
Before I visited nuvid.com, I wasn’t expecting to find adult-only content. It’s a bit sad when you have to worry about where you may end up on the internet when a domain name has something as subtle as “vid” or “video” in it. I wouldn’t have recommended the domain name when they first started due to that reason. However, since the site is already established, it’s best to leave it as is now. The advantage of the name is that it’s very short for a dot com domain so the owner was probably pleased when they bought it. As for the content, I thought it was innovative. In the category menu in the head section, I saw separate sections for videos, photos, and stories (written stories in text). It’s rare for me to see all of those three together, but I liked the idea. I noticed that there were networked links in the same category menu, which I don’t recommend unless you make them look different from the regular categories on the domain. When you have your own categories look the same as the networked links, people can’t distinguish the two and that’s not a good user experience. Most importantly, you may be negatively impacted by an algorithm update with dishonesty like that. I found some of the video content to be original on nuvid.com, both in terms of the video categories available and the video content. I saw several videos that originated on nuvid.com according to the text on them. There’s nothing more important than original content, so that is very good from an SEO perspective. It’s also positive from a trustworthiness perspective: most malicious sites haven’t invested that kind of time into their content.
