Whenever we get a flagship phone that’s set to launch from one of the biggest manufacturers of Smartphones in the world the rumor mill and leaks are always coming in thick and fast. This year has been no different for one of our favourite handsets makers, HTC, as they look set to release the “All New One” next week on the 25th of March.
We’ve managed to show your tons of leaks already, from carriers to the features and the overall looks and now today we are proud to say that we have our hands on a leaked video from “Gadget leaks” that shows one of the best features the 2014 edition of the HTC One has to offer in the Sense 6. Sense 6 will overtake what we know today as Sense 5.5.
The Sense 6 is an interface that is designed to make more economical way of storing your widgets and applications that differ from the standard way the Android-OS has made it. HTC and not Android made it, and that’s why they have implemented it. It follows on from HTC’s original TouchFLO 3D idea that you might remember as part of the Windows OS they used.
HTC Sense came out in June of 2009 and since then it has come a long way and last years Sense 5.5 has been rolling out to the 2013 edition of the Verizon HTC One as late as last month February along with the Android 4.4 KitKat.
The HTC M8 will have post-capture focusing to help create a better camera this year. As the years roll by and new devices are launched, we still see the camera as a focal point for introducing leading technology. Whether that is because they cannot think about anything else to work on, or whether they see it as a feature that will lead to better sales is arguable. There’s no doubt in my mind that cameras play an integral role in a Smartphone, because face it, most people love taking snaps. But how much they care about a slightly improved quality image is debatable.
The video shown here comes with no sound or voice commentary, so that is a let down. However, the owners do run us through some cool things that are new to Sense this year. The first feature the clip shows are a man going to Settings > personalize > Themes and there is some new Wallpapers in there. Click on the one you want to use and then a confirmation message will appear on the screen. Select “OK” and it will now be the default theme. You can also go to the settings application and scroll down to display. In here will be new font styles you can use. You’ll also find Motion Launch gestures, and when you tap on the screen a brief instructional video will appear and tell you how to use them.
