Updating the OnePlus Two with the Exodus Android 5.1.1 Lollipop custom ROM

  1. Download both the Exodus firmware file from the official web page and the Gapps package to the desktop of the computer. Visit the Exodus web page from the computer to make that happen easier.
  2. Do not unzip either the Exodus ROm or the Gapps pack.
  3. Connect the OnePlus Two to the computer with the USB cable.
  4. Transfer both files to the SD card (internal storage).
  5. Unplug the OnePlus two from the computer.
  6. You now need to enter the custom recovery mode. Do that with the key combination or by installing the Quick Boot app from the Google Play Store.
  7. Once you are in the recovery mode, navigate to the NANdroid and take the NANDroid backup.
  8. Now that you have backed up the data, you are ready to wipe the current ROM clean. Don’t worry, the NANDroid backup will restore your data.
  9. Head to the ‘wipe’ for TWRP or ‘wipe data/factory reset’ for CWM recovery.
  10. Now clear the caches from the recovery menu (optional but recommended).
  11. Now go back to the main recovery menu and choose to ‘install’ or ‘install from SD card’.
  12. Browse the SD card for the Exodus ROM file and confirm the installation from the next screen.
  13. Go back and browse the SD card again, this time uploading the Google Gapps package.
  14. Once you have the ROM and the stock apps from Google fully loaded you are ready to reboot your device.
  15. Do that properly by heading back to the main recovery, menu and selecting the reboot system now option.

Once your device reboots you are ready to take over the Google account and enjoy the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
