Ever heard of a story where somebody travels overseas and they come back with a giant phone bill all because they didn’t turn on their data roaming? While people are off enjoying their holidays this can easily happen and has happened to many already. Now if you’re with T-Mobile you won’t have to worry about that.
At an event in New York which saw singer and entertainer, Shakira takes the stage, T-Mobile were also there and with some big news to announce. They have now put a stop to high priced roaming charges if you are signed up to be a carrier with them. Moreover, they are also expanding their unlimited data range. 100 countries can now say they have free global data on an unlimited plan. That is a figure that is bigger than two of their main competitors, Verizon and AT&T together.
Here’s what the current CEO, John Legere had to say about it:
“The cost of staying connected across borders is completely crazy. Today’s phones are designed to work around the world, but we’re forced to pay insanely inflated international connectivity fees to actually use them. You can’t leave the country without coming home to bill shock. So we’re making the world your network — at no extra cost.”
