Sprint has decided they will go ahead with the plans to update the HTC 8XT and the Samsung ATIV S Neo to Windows Phone 8.1 instead of keeping them on the Windows 8. The new update is expected to take place during the U.S.A summer of 2014. Right now we are in Spring and summer will not kick off for another month and a half.

As for the rest of the devices that have not come out yet, well, we are expecting the first ever pre-released WP 8.1 to come late April. We are still learning what exactly the new build has to offer after it was first revealed during the Build developer conference. Don’t mistake this for the update that happened to the desktop and Surface products because this one is different and very fresh off the shelf.

Because there is many hardware partners using Windows these days it will take some time before we see a more detailed list come out for the rest. Names like HTC, Samsung, ZTE, Lenovo, Huawei, LG and more.

If you are thinking of switching over to Sprint to get your hands on one of these updated phones now is as good a time as any. Sprint are now offering $650 bonuses in either cash or credit to new customers that come over from other carriers.

Sprint has recently sent out invitations to the launch event for HD voice happening on the 29th of April. It is a busy time of the year for the United States telecommunications company.
