I love a good mobile-NBA relationship, and Sprint is quickly building one with the Oklahoma City Thunder star, Kevin Durant.
His first commercial, although it was hard to believe Sprint, was promoting the hit game Doodle Jump more than anything else. You can view the advertisement in its entirety from here:
I’m in the midst of watching game 4 between the Thunder and the Grizzlies, with less than a minute to go. There has been so many showings of the new Sprint commercial featuring KD, that I felt compelled to blog out this new commercial where Kevin Durant plays the role of a father turned into Durant after watching too much NBA from his Spring mobile device. Not a bad marketing ploy indeed.
Who is Sprint? A big time mobile service in the United States.
It’s hard not to like Sprint’s latest effort in this advertisement. I don’t get a chance to watch a lot of TV from the US, but I do watch a fair bit of sports on-line which allow me to delve into American advertising a bit. Needless to say, I have noticed many American advertisements can have somewhat of a double entendre deployed. The same can be said in this Sprint ad. You’ll see what I mean from the mother’s performance.
Game update: Durant ties the game with 6 seconds to go.
