While the LG G Flex 2 rumors are already beginning with some going so far as to say that it will bend up to 90 degrees, some places in the world are still only starting to launch the original LG G Flex. Canada is one of those countries, and it’s surprising that they are this late on the scene considering that they are normally very strong in the Smartphone industry. What’s even more surprising is that Rogers Wireless is the only phone carrier to pick this one up. That means it isn’t available to buy from any other Canadian phone carrier at all. There has been no official date given by Rogers about when they will start selling the handset, but they did say it would be during Spring. With Winter almost officially under wraps, Spring is the next season up. That means that it will be here any time between a week and three months from now.

To help ease the pain of waiting for it, Rogers has made it possible to pre-order this handset from their website. There is still no price put on the phone, or a release date, but the option is there to begin the orders so it will be ready for you when it comes.

The G Flex was a pioneer in the flexing/bendable Smartphone industry, and although it was only an entry-level phone, it was successful enough to be launched across 20 countries in Europe. Some of those have yet to happen, but they are confirmed destinations on the list.

The G Flex has a 6-inch curved display that is also scratch resistant. Making the shape and design work is a curved battery inside. This is also a world’s first development on the battery side of things. Because of its design it is a non removable 3500 mAh battery. It has a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels at a density of 245 ppi. It has a multi-touch screen with both light and proximity sensors. The camera is LED and 13 megapixels. It’s only coming out of the box with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for an operating system. These things aren’t a huge deal because users always can update to the new firmware when they become available. The good news is that it will receive the Android 4.4 Kitkat update at a future date that presumably won’t be far away by the time it comes out.
