We’ve heard rumors of black and blue color variants arriving for these years HTC flagship the One M8, but there was nothing set in stone unless we got our hands in the image. Today is that day as one of the workers have sent in the leaked picture to Evleaks who are by far the most reputable place to rely on any leaked information in the mobile sector; it would seem that people just go straight there after some clever branding in the name.
Anyhow, we are now confident this handset is coming, and many people are very attracted to it although I’m not one of them. To me it’s a little bit off putting but who cares what I think? I’m sure none of you do. It will join the already popular gun-metal gray, silver and gold options on the shelves just as people were starting to become a little too familiar with the options already available.
Pictures always should be taken with a grain of salt because no matter how good the camera is they can look different when glancing at them in real life. To me, the image has a touch of brown in it and if you look towards the bottom of the back case just above where it says, “EvLeaks” you can spot some lines that tell me there is a brushed metal type finish. It’s common to have a second tinge running through the color if it is going to be of the brushed metal variety so I wouldn’t at all be surprised if this picture does show an accurate design. However, like I already mentioned, you’d be foolish to rule out it being entirely black as the name suggests. We are also not hearing any rumors of what I just mentioned, and that’s just my own opinion from what my eyes are telling me.
To serve as a refresher, the M8 comes with a Sense 6 UI, Android 4.4 out of the box, weighs 160 grams and has an aluminium body. The camera took a lot of backlash, coming in with a new 4 ultra-pixel name that was considered a gimmick and many ended up referring to it as 4 megapixels. In its defense, it did come with some neat features you couldn’t find in other handsets and although the Galaxy S5 does produce a better quality picture, the quality from the M8 wasn’t bad at all. The display is 5.0-inches, it has a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, a pixel density of 441ppi and has IPS LCD technology.
As for the hardware, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC, Quad core, 2300 MHz, Krait 400 processor, 2048 MB RAM for memory, 32 GB of built-in storage although only 24 of that is for the user. The rest is taken up with market apps, system apps and programs to do with the operating system.
The only cynical thing we have to say about this smartphone is that the battery is not user replaceable. That means if your 20 hours of talk time and 2600 mAh capacity battery starts playing up there’s zilch you can do about it unless its under warranty. For what it’s worth it’s not said to have a bad battery or bad reputation but if you don’t like living on the edge and having a warranty then it might be the turning point in your buy or sell argument.
