Apple finally released its first ever smartphone with a screen display closer to 5 inches, now rivaling that of its competitors in Samsung, HTC and LG. While the specs don’t jump out on paper, it does offer arguably the best performance a smartphone can offer on the market today. Apple have stood firmly with their belief that the smartphone display in the mid 4-inch range is the ideal size. However, their main rivals would beg to differ and the smartphone display size still appears to be growing on average.
Correspondingly, Apple released the iPhone 6 Plus along side the iPhone 6. The 6 Plus comes with a larger 5.5 inch display and is likely a trial and error device to see how well it sells. Sales were not close to that of the iPhone 6 and the current future of the iPhone Plus models is up in the air. We witnessed the iPhone 5C discontinued after one year of lackluster sales.
