Apple is still the most popular makers of any one single smartphone with the iPhone they release every year. However, Android as a whole run a larger ecosystem of devices and the total number of Android sales across many devices far outweighs the amount of Apple iPhone’s that are sold. It’s with that knowledge that Apple is trying to gain some of the market back again with its release of the budget iPhone 5C and this years iPhone 6 Plus. They knew the main reason for losing sales was their devices only appeal to the top-end of the market and no mid-range devices which sell so well for other OEMs. The iPhone 5C was aimed at providing a cheaper device for consumers. However, after lackluster sales, it was discontinued the following year.
The iPhone 6 Plus is only it’s in first year now and it’s aim is to offer people with the larger display, similar to what they get with some Samsung Galaxy devices. After lackluster sales once again, there’s no guarantee it will be back for another year, although we feel it holds a greater survival chance that it’s sister iPhone 5C handset.
