Taking a screenshot on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 device can be done by using the hardware buttons on your device as well as installing apps from the Google Play Store. The number one way to take a screenshot on any smartphone should be by researching the hardware key combination because it’s quicker and doesn’t bloat your device. Every time you install an app on your device, you are adding bloatware and taking up unnecessary memory space.
Screenshots are most commonly taken when people are browsing websites and want to store a picture for later or share it with friends. Nowadays, most websites we visit come with social share buttons. These share buttons allow us to share content, but it will share the entire webpage with your friends and often all of your friends. By talking a snapshot of what’s on the devices display, you can send a more specific picture and it happens faster too.
Your Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 snapshots will end up in your devices gallery app where you normally find pictures your camera takes.

Using hardware keys:
The most common method for taking snapshots on any Xiaomi device is by using the hardware keys. The hardware keys are the same keys you would normally use to turn the volume up or down and turn the device on or off. These are the stock buttons on your device. Using a combination or buttons, we are able to take a screenshot. Here’s what I mean:
- Turn on your Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 device.
- Navigate to the picture you wish to capture on your device so that it is on the display.
- Press the Power and Volume Down buttons at the same time and wait until you hear a camera sound. Your screen should dim at the same time as you hear the shutter sound.
- The screenshot has been successfully taken. Navigate over to your picture gallery app where you normally find photos and you will see the screenshot available in the screenshots folder.
Apps:
In addition to the buttons, you can install application from the Google Play Store to take quick screenshots on your device and record the screen. The screen recorder options is now available on your stock Android operating system and therefore you must install apps if you want a movie screenshot.
Some of the best apps available for rooted Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 users include the AirDroid and aScreenshot apps. Those of you without root access to the internal file system can still download some of the best screenshot apps for Android including the Perfect Screen Shot (Classic), Screen capture, Easy Screenshot (capture/memo) and Screenshot Ultimate apps — all of which are available from the Google Play Store.
