We don’t get to draw as often as we once did some 10 years ago thanks to new technology that has us operating from smartphones, tablets and laptops more and picking up the pencils less. However, some clever folks are still developing applications to help solve that problem by allowing us to sketch til our hearts content on our devices.

The Sketch application by Sony Mobile Communications is updated to version 5.0.A.0.2 and is available to download from the Google Play Store here. The new iteration comes without a change-log from the official description page. Nevertheless, we know this is a large jump up from the previous build number. The aforementioned build number is available to existing users from the official Sony Update Centre. Additionally, you can download the APK from here.

The app lets users do all the same tasks including pan and zoom to fine-tune the images, loads of color options from the color picker, layer support, sticker packs, pencils, brushes and magic brushes. You’ll master this if you are a long-term user of the Microsoft Paint program that comes with Microsoft Windows.

You must have an Android device running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean or higher for this app to work. You can check that by turning the device on and tapping the settings, followed by “About Device” or “About Phone” menus. It works splendidly for all Xperia-based handsets.
