Apple has just released the iOS 6.1.1 update that can now be downloaded. The update is for iPhone 4S which was experiencing some connectivity issues, as well as poor reliability and cell performance. The build number for this is 10B145.
If you jailbreak, you probably know better than to rush into updating anything like this. Especially after Apple’s recent performance of trying to rush out an update on purpose for the sake of ruining the Evasi0n jailbreak. On top of that, the hackers did warn of updating to this update until now.
In saying that, by the time of writing this I can say it is safe to update already, as the Evasi0n tool has also received an update. If you are interested in updating to this firmware and then learning how to jailbreak it untethered using Evasi0n, then check back in a few when we will have the guide up.
As for downloading it for iPhone 4S, well that’s easy to do. If you have your device there with you, open it up and navigate your way to settings>general>software update. This will now install iOS 6.1.1 onto your iPhone 4S via over-the-air installation. If you did not receive it over the air, then you can also update it manually by grabbing the file below.
