Apple has made iOS 6.1.4 available for download today for iPhone 5 users. This is the newest version of IOS available. It has also been called the last firmware upgrade in the iOS 6 range. Next up will be the iOS 7 coming to us in a month or so.
There is two ways to get the update. The first way is by simply going into the setting app and then software and select download the update. The second way is to grab the direct IPSW link from the bottom of this page.
There has been no word why this has been released for the iPhone 5 only so far, however, it is known to be a small update that won’t make much of a difference. As normal, if you are into customizing the iPhone by doing jailbreaks then you will not want to update yet as there is no current solution to jailbreak this. If you are thinking about getting Evasi0n for this specific update in future, don’t, because the Evasi0n team have already announced that they will not be making a jailbreak for this. Instead, they will focus their time on the iOS 7 jailbreak which should be released along with iOS 7 in the coming months. Many are saying you can expect iOS 7 to be released at the WWDC 2013.
