New figures have come to light on how the sales of the 2013 iPhone range have gone in terms of colors and genders.
Green was nearly identical between male and female, ranging at almost 20% for both. Blue saw a significant jump up for the boys, even though it’s a more sky blue and not dark blue. Pink was by far and away the most popular color for women, at about 35% of buyers getting this. Surprisingly enough, even though it was the least popular for men, it still reeled in 10% of male customers. One would have to assume there was a fair chunk of those men buying for the girlfriends, otherwise that would be a larger chunk of the population predicted to be buying the pink. Yellow is the last color and it was bought more by the women, taking away the extra blue buyers share that was mine.
As for the flagship iPhone 5S, Gold was trending at neck and neck, with almost nothing between them. A larger part of women went for the silver and a larger amount of men went for the space gray, which is considerably darker.
“iPhone 5S and 5C colors seem to confirm some traditional gender biases. In the iPhone 5C, men prefer the neutral white, and the Space Gray in the iPhone 5S. In contrast, women prefer lighter silver 5S and the brighter iPhone 5C colors. Interestingly, no one, including the women in the survey, appears to want the Yellow iPhone 5C very much.”
