A new version of Android 4.4.2 Kitkat namely FXXU1ANG1 is rolling out to Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini handsets as we speak and it will continue to do so in the coming weeks. The situations are tricky because the S5 hasn’t come out yet, but developers still like to get their hands on software updates so they can get to work and release other add-ons such as Custom ROMs. Furthermore, it helps could-be owners understand what is in store for them if they decide on breaking one of these babies out of the box.

If you look underneath the writing on the page it also says that it is strictly for the Russian region. That usually means it’s where the OTA will arrive as a system notification. People can install the file the usual way by suing the Odin v3.09 application and uploading the file through the AP button. Leave the default settings with Auto Reboot and F Reset Time options checked and uncheck the re-partition if the box is marked. You will need a Windows-based PC to use the application. Make sure you have enough battery power if the USB charging feature is not working.

The S5 mini comes with Android 4.4 off the shelves so the newer 4.4.2 Kitkat will come as a new experience.
