While many people might not believe in Amazon as a fashionable tech brand, fact of the matter is that the Kindle Fire is one of the best selling Android tablets that has ever existed. Granted, a lot of that had to do with an always very competitive price, the fact remains, it has sold a hell of a lot of units.
It has long been rumored that Amazon will be bringing out a revamped 7 inch Kindle Fire this year, and thanks to, BGR, we can now spoil the party with some fantastic leaked images that seem to be the real deal.
When looking at the images, be careful you don’t get trapped into the illusion of thinking this tablet has angled corners and a raised front, because that would be a mistake. Apparently, the screen on the tablet has been blacked out for whatever reason, and thus, giving off the appearance of it is more 3D rather than flat. According to reports it is flat.
What is new compared to the last version?
In terms of looks, there has been a logo position shift which you might be able to pick up on the pictures. It has been repositioned to be more like its sister devices and competitors, the KF HD and Nexus 10.
What are the specs?
There is still much speculation, but sources say we can expect a 1,920 by 1,200 screen. This is a lot better than the current version, which has a 1200 x 800 screen. If it proves to be true, this will compete with the likes of the Nexus 7. The Nexus 7 also being a device which is 7 inches. If processors are more your thing, you can expect it to come with a 2GHZ quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800.
There is still no word on when the release day will be. However, we do know that the current one that is out was revealed in September of 2012. If we were to take a guess, that means you can probably expect this year’s version around about the same time, although there has been no talk of any event being hosted in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more details.
