Did you gain root access on the Star pro Duos and are now looking to learn how to unroot the Samsung Galaxy Star Pro Duos?

If so, you can complete that task using the guide below in roughly ten minutes. Just make sure you are using the correct model number. After completing the guide, you don’t have any rooting permissions.

Samsung Galaxy Star Plus Duos

The Files You Need:

  • Download the Stock ROM.
  • Download the Samsung USB Drivers for mobile phones.
  • Download the Odin 3.04 from our page here. Alternatively, you can download Odin 3.07 is the 3.04 link is down when you are visiting the page.

The guide is only made for the GT-S7262 smartphone. Do not flash this file on a different model number.

Unrooting the Samsung Galaxy Star Pro Duos GT-S7262

  1. Unzip the Odin and Stock ROM to the desktop of the Windows PC.
  2. Double-click and run the Odin tool so you can flash the ROM.
  3. Hold the Power key in on the Samsung Galaxy Star smartphone until you know the device is completely off.
  4. Reboot the device in download mode by holding the Power + Volume Down + Home buttons.
  5. Press the Volume Up button if you get to the warning screen so you can access the download mode.
  6. Connect the Star Pro Duos smartphone to the computer using the USB cable you use for charging.
  7. Since you already opened Odin, the Odin tool should now change the color of the ID: COM port to let you know your device is detected. Download the USB Drivers again and reboot the PC if that didn’t happen for you.
  8. Click the AP or PDA button in Odin and browse the desktop for the stock ROM firmware file. You must have unzipped the file first.
  9. Now that the firmware is loaded in the AP/PDA slot, click the Start button without adjusting any of Odin’s default Settings.
    – those who are already using Odin on their PC and have forgotten the default settings will need to check the re-partition box is empty.
  10. The Odin tool will say “pass” on the display and your Samsung Star handset will reboot automatically when it’s complete.

You no longer have the root access on your device. You cannot go to the Google Play Store and download the root-requiring apps for your device. You can, however, continue browsing the Play Store and install non root-requiring applications as you normally would.
