The Sony Xperia T3 is accepting another firmware update, namely the 18.1.A.1.23 build that keeps it on the same 4.4.2 KitKat software. It is a marginal update that brings in bug relief for those suffering with their current software. There is no further information until we edge closer to the official release. We are expecting the new firmware to start its roll out phase in the coming weeks ahead now that the PTCRB is giving it the all clear to go ahead.
The news breaks only hours after we are witnessing the Android L running on the Samsung Galaxy S5. Android 5.0 will hit the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 coming out in early November according to reports. Given the T3 released with Android 4.4 there’s every chance that was seeing it with the “l’ software in the future. For now, though it appears Sony are happy keeping this handset away from the final stages of KitKat until that time.
For now, owners of this smartphone are enjoying the fresh 18.1.A.1.21 and 18.2.A.1.18 numbers arrive OTA as a notification. Please remember you can always navigate your way to Settings > About Device > Software update and check for the upgrade that way if you are not around a stable WiFi connection at the time it arrives over the air. Those of you running custom firmware or custom ROMs with root access will not see any notifications alerting them because the system notifications stop until you revert back to stock firmware. You guys have to download the files manually when they are available.
