If you’re both an Xbox 360 fan and an Android fan, then the Xbox SmartGlass for Android is an app you will want to know about.

Xbox SmartGlass for Android is available for a broad range of the Android devices, and if you’ve got one of them, we highly recommend you pick it up.

Xbox Smartglass manages to combine it’s Microsoft based gaming console and transform it into a virtual entertainment hub. In Microsoft’s words “it’s a rich, interactive experience” that allows users to connect with their Xbox content.

What else can you do other than gaming? There are many things worth taking note of here.

There first thing that comes to mind is the new ability to now be able to connect and chat with friends via this Xbox Smartglass instead of a different (pricey) conventional way. You can also use your Android device as a keyboard for sending messages.

The next thing worth noting is the ability to now use your Android device as a Xbox 360 device remote control, and that’s not just for gaming either. Play, pause, fast forward and rewind whatever media you might be playing – music and video – all with a quick tap of your Android.

Xbox had an update recently that focused on social gaming, and by that I mean to now have the ability to share your gaming information with friends, Compare scores and other results with friends you are connected to on the Xbox console. Well, now with Xbox SmartGlass you can do all of that too.

There are some limitations with the app, such as it only works for the newer OS’s Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and above. You also have to, of course, sign up for a Xbox 360 membership to get the app working.
