I assume these numbers were current and may potentially continue to grow because it said there were daily updates to the content I would be joining. Though the effort that went into the development to get the tab to blink at me was impressive, overall I found this trick to get my attention an annoyance/spammy and I was surprised Google Chrome allowed a site to do this.
