Virgin had just released the Samsung Galaxy Ring. This new mobile phone comes with the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and only costs $180. If you are in the hunt for a new cheap phone that comes equipped with the latest Android has to offer in terms of the OS then it’s hard to look past this mobile.

It is obviously a pre-paid device which is why it’s for sale at $180. It does not come with LTE, however, it does come with lots of other goodness making it a good bang for your buck. You will get a 4 inch screen, 5 megapixel camera and a 1.4GHz processor which performs reasonably well.

Why wouldn’t I buy this device? If no LTE doesn’t phase you there is only one other reason we can think that might turn you off. It is not 4G capable. That said, 4G isn’t required for many, especially if you are living in an area which it can’t be utilized anyway. The only other reason is if you are not a fan of Virgin connectivity in your area. For $180 it makes for a good short term device for a bit of fun. If you are one that churns through your devices rather quickly instead of holding onto the same mobile for year after year, there’s no reason to not give the new Galaxy Ring a look at.

This device is only currently available from Virgin USA. There is currently no word on whether we can expect it out in other countries such as Australia or not.
