The Sony Xperia Z2 announced on the 24th of February and is officially released all-be-it on just the one phone carrier. Yes, now T-Mobile hold the lone title although we expect more announced because it runs on LTE bands bought by AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.
This Moment we have all the proof we need to call the Verizon reckoning official without it being named because the Korean Sony website is showing a picture of the Big Red’s variant partnered with some Korean writing that we cannot read.
We like this smartphone from Sony because it is water and dust resistant, but it comes out at an unfavorable time where half the world does not know what to do. Several other flagships including the HTC One M8 and the Galaxy S5 released theirs earlier in the year because it is possible they wanted to keep the rest of the continuum of days left in 2014 open to release a better device. That leaves companies like Sony right in the middle of it and unless they pack in the newer specs then it will be out of date super quick. That seems to be what is going to occur as they are launching this Z2 with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974-AB system chip. That is on the equivalent level as the S5 and M8 that are already out.
Maybe all that does make sense to Sony after they announced the Z2 just six months after the original Z1 came out.
Getting back to the photo on the website: it is not understood if it has been put up accidentally by an employee over in Korea or if it is meant to tease us, but the Verizon model of the Z2 has not been announced. About as much information we have to go on is Sony’s word that they would release an unlocked variant in the US market in time for the North American summer break. That is also the same time we anticipate Apple to arrive out with the iPhone 6 and possibly a bevy of other devices including the heavily anticipated iWatch.
We know that smartphone manufacturers like to release new features and make the most of the sales from them. It is highly possible Sony are handing onto the new “water and dust proof” notion for a way to make sales before they come out with something else. With people coming off phone plans at different times, it will be appealing for a select bunch of people. The Z2 also has new IPS image technology in the display and that is causing a sir.
There ‘re lots of information to find out about this new handset the Japanese company out of Kōnan Minato has made, but I will tell you some extra features you likely would not have heard. It has additional microphones to kill any excess noise and seven extra sensors. The sensors are Gyroscope, compass, Barometer, voice dialing, voice commands and voice recording. Nothing too special there, but it also comes with a range of notifications including haptic feedback, polyphonic ringtones, MP3, vibration, flight mode, speakerphone and silent mode.
