Given that the information is coming from a leaked document, it looks like the launch date for the LG G Pad 8.3 from Verizon is the 6th of March. Who decided to leak the memo is remaining anonymous, but the information was handed in to the popular Android Police blog. We’ve personally read Android Police for years, and before they were really big. Throughout that time they haven’t been known as a place to go for information on device leaks. However, that doesn’t make this any less authentic because if you look at the memo, it looks as official as they come. Once a blog gets bigger, it’s also common for people with extra information to share the love around to blogs they like to read instead of the normal Ev Leaks.
This tablet isn’t new. The LG G Pad 8.3 launched on the 3rd of November for some carriers. This is the launch date for the Verizon model only. It’s normal for carriers to release products at different times. It’s not the end of the world for the “Big Red” company, as consumers are known to stay loyal to a company based on several factors, including service where they are from, price of the product, plans and more.
The LG G Pad 8.3 has a quad-core 1.7GHz CPU. Where we really like this tablet though, is the 8.3 inch screen that has a 1920 x 1200 resolution. A reason that may turn many people off is the 16GB internal storage on offer. Don’t run away and start looking for another tablet instead just yet, however, because there is also an extra 64GB of internal storage available to be used via the Micro SD card slot.
In late January we learnt that the Verizon version of the 8.3 G Pad would come with LTE. We know this because it showed up in the FCC. To add to the drama, there was also a model number of VK810 that cleared the FCC that came with the same dimensions for this device and the papers showed it having 4G connectivity. It even had the specific bands of 4 and 13 shown for the “Big Reds” service.
