It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call the Universal ADB Driver a life-saving file, as I’m sure since it gets used so often that it probably has, somewhere along the way, saved somebody. The Universal ADB Driver is the definition of a convenient package. Its founder, Koushik “Koush” Dutta, who also founded ClockworkMod, decided to package together as many device drivers as he could get his hands on to make things as efficient as possible for the end-users who downloaded his custom recovery images. While that in itself was extremely handy, as you may well know, you can also use device drivers for far more tasks than just installing custom recovery images and custom firmware; Windows users need device drivers anytime they wish to connect their devices to their computers. Thankfully most devices and Windows handle this task by themselves a lot of the time, but if you do need a driver and can’t locate it as a single file, the next best thing to download is this.
