My passion for skateboarding as a youth was high. My love for the iPhone as a male in his 20’s was arguably higher. With that, it gives me great pleasure to show off some amazing skateboarding footage filmed with the new iPhone 6 slow motion camera feature. While modern-day flip tricks are popular, it was the original Zepher skateboarding team with a love of outdoor swimming pool grinding around the Venice Beach area in the 60’s and 70’s which really had me enjoying the sport as much as anything else. Sadly, the original ‘Jay-Boy,’ Jay Adam passed away last year from a heart attack while on a surfing trip in Mexico.
When it comes to slow-mo footage, though, it’s hard to argue the supremacy of the flip tricks. In the video you will see plenty of kick flips, 360 flips and other maneuvers going down win a car park next to a truck. We are assuming it’s scene is somewhere in the US, but the place is secret.
According to the specification sheet, the iPhone 6 lets users record video at video at 240fps and play it all back at only a quarter of the speed, thus allowing for the slow-motion video. To access the video camera, all you have to do is click the camera app from the home screen and swipe across from the photo option to the video option. Now you can click the red button on the display to begin recording your video.
The iPhone 6 camera comes with a 8 megapixel rear-facing shooter, DUAL LED flash, F2.2 aperture size, 29mm focal length, back-illuminated sensor, Auto-focus, touch-to-focus, phase detection focus, Geo tagging, burst mode, digital zoom, exposure compensation, self time and 1.2 megapixel camera on the front.
The rest of the specs include iOS 8 OS, 4.7 inch display, 750 x 1334 pixels resolution, 326 ppi, IPS LCD screen technology, Apple A8 system chip, Dual core, 1400 MHz, 64-bit processor, PowerVR GX6450 graphics processor, 1024 MB RAM system memory and a whopping 128 GB of built-in storage space for plenty of pictures and video space.
