The Samsung SM-G935F came with Android 6.0 out of the box and has since been upgradable to Android 8.0. If you need any of those firmware versions, you may be tempted to head to your most trusted search engine and download the file. However, Samsung doesn’t offer firmware files directly from its website. You will find some sites that offer you the files which have been scraped from Samsung’s servers but they’re not affiliated with Samsung. That means you have to put trust in those unofficial sites with something as important as firmware, and that’s difficult to do because it’s risky.

If you want to avoid the risk of having to trust unofficial sites offering official Samsung firmware files, you can either complain to Samsung and ask them for the file directly (which won’t likely work) or you can use one of the free Samsung firmware update tools which have been developed by developers associated with XDA-Developers or GitHub that will download the Samsung firmware files directly from Samsung’s servers for you, thus effectively eliminating the middle man who you didn’t want to have to trust anyway.

SamFirm_Reborn

One of the most popular Samsung firmware update tools to use is SamFirm_Reborn. As the name suggests there was another tool before it (SamFirm) that is no longer being developed, but thousands of people from GitHub and XDA Developers are using this tool for downloading Samsung firmware every day. There’s no question that SamFirm_Reborn is reliable for downloading Samsung firmware files. SamFirm_Reborn will download the latest firmware version for your device directly from Samsung’s servers onto your desktop. And then you can flash the firmware with Odin.

Frija

Another popular Samsung firmware update tool to use is Frija. Some people prefer using Frija when they aren’t able to enter their smartphone’s details in SamFirm_reborn because it comes with an automatic detection feature that tries to learn what device you have so you don’t have to do anything. Once your model number has been automatically detected, it will download the correct firmware for it directly from Samsung’s servers.
