If you are the proud owner of a Galaxy Camera GC100 and have recently updated it to the wonderful Android Jelly Bean then we have the guide to get you rooted and give you the many benefits of owning an Android device with access. This beautiful and sleek device comes with a dedicated 16.3 MP camera, 21x optical zoom and a bright LCD touchscreen.
Before you begin please ensure the following:
- You have at least an 80% charge left on your device.
- You have enabled USB debugging on your device. This can be achieved by selecting ‘Options’ > ‘Applications’ > ‘Development’ > ‘USB Debugging’.
- You are rooting the Galaxy Camera GC100 running Android 4.1.2.
- Your PC has the Camera GC100 USB drivers installed.
- Again, back up your device.
Root Galaxy Camera GC100 Running Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
Step 1. First of all you will need to download the following:
Step 2. Once you have downloaded the above files, extract the CF-Auto-Root and Odin to a folder somewhere easy to access such as your desktop.
Step 3. Then place your device in download mode. To achieve this simply switch off your device then hold down ‘Volume Down’ + ‘Home’ at the same time, whilst holding them down press ‘Power’ and hold all three until Android droid or Samsung logo appear on the screen.
Step 4. Double click on Odin to run the program then once it is open connect your device to your PC via USB. You will be able to see the ID:COM box change to yellow from within the program.
Step 5. Now select the ‘PDA’ button from within Odin and choose the CF-Auto-Root-gd1-ekgc100.tar.md5 file which was downloaded in step 1.
Step 6. Within Odin, ensure the ‘Auto Reboot’ and ‘F. Reset Time’ options are both checked.
Step 7. Select ‘Start’ from Odin.
Step 8. After a few minuets your device will restart, this means the installation is complete.
