Like all good modern day operating systems, Microsoft has created a Store App for Windows 10 users to be able to download and install applications, games, music, movies, TV shows and everything else you can think of that you want on your Windows operating systems.

While uncommon, it’s not out of the question that you would one-day experience problems with the Microsoft Store App, such as lags or it just not opening at all, and need to troubleshoot it. If that day ever comes, there is a way to re-register the Store to rectify the problem.

This is what you need to do to re-register the Store App in Windows 10 to get the Microsoft Store working the way it should if you were experiencing issues with it.

How to Re-register Store App in Windows 10

1. Download the reinstall preinstalled Store App from the Microsoft website.

2. Click on the file and run it when the download completes.

3. You can now try opening the Store App and see if the problem is solved.

4. It’s also possible to open the Command Prompt window and type the PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Command "& {$manifest = (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore).InstallLocation + '\AppxManifest.xml' ; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest}" command and hit the “Enter” key on your keyboards to execute it.

5. When that’s done, you can close the Command Prompt window and try opening the Windows Store.

Now that you have re-registered the Store App you should have no trouble avoiding all problems in the future. If you experience another issue, then just follow the same steps again to re-register the application.
