We have many sources today pointing towards the Moto X coming in a 64 GB version very soon. backing that up even more is the information handed to us that Sprint are offering a 64 GB model coming to the Moto maker next month in June.

In terms of pricing, we do have a lead thanks to Phone Arena that the 64 GB edition will be $50 more than the 32 GB edition and $100 more than the 16 GB edition. It tells us that we don’t pay for storage properly at all. If we did then the extra $50 up from 32 would be 48 but I guess it is a buy in bulk type discount right guys.

Moto X in hand

The original Moto X was announced on the 1st of August 2013 and released later that month on the 23rd of August. That makes this smartphone nearly a year old by the time people will get around to buying it again. For that reason, I would give this a miss as smartphones depreciate fast and what once was tremendous value all of sudden sounds lousy at best.

If you don’t want to take my advice and are still considering this set up to use, you might want a refresher on the specs. It started off with Android 4.2.2 jelly bean and then got updated to 4.3, 4.4 and now is on 4.4.2 KitKat. That is the good news in all of this: Motorola still is doing a good job at looking after the OS and keeping it up to date. It is the single biggest driving force that keeps a handset relevant as it ages. However, is it genuine or are they doing it just because they are about to release a new model with more storage?

The display is 4.7-inches and the screen resolution is 720 x 1280 pixels. It has an average pixel density by today’s standard at 316 ppi. The technology within the screen itself is AMOLED and it is a multi-touch touchscreen.

The camera is average at 10 megapixel rear-facing snapper combined with a front-facing 2 megapixel camera. The good news here is that there isn’t much difference between this “selfie” camera and the best flagships out there as they all lack megapixels on the front.

Hardware-wise it has a Motorola X8 system chip — a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8960 and Dual core, 1700 MHz, Krait processor.

The Moto X was one of our favorite mobile’s last year. However, it did not come with any external SD memory card option and thus it was restricted immensely with its storage capacity. Most people especial women hate using any expansion slots anyway because it’s too complicated. Hopefull in times to come manufacturers can offer people more space and less hardware specs for those just looking to store a lot of pictures, video and music without having to transfer files continuously from a computer.

The tip comes from the website Mobiltelefon where they found the source code pointing towards the new addition. Since then, many Android enthusiasts who know how to look into the code have confirmed what the website found.
