Another Android 5.0.1 software update is rolling out to the Samsung Galaxy S5 G900F smartphone in Poland. The build number for the secondary Lollipop is LRX21T.G900FXXU1BNL7. That’s the build you will see on your devices after you finish installing the update is you look at the “About Device” section from your settings.
After discovering the first 5.0 Lollipop with loads of goodies including material design UI, material design app drawer, smart notification with a “do not disturb” feature, multiple device support, camera updates, new battery settings, new Quick Settings and Tap and Go, the second installment of 5.0.1 comes with mainly bug fixes. Moreover, the ROM experience is smoother and faster than it was before. Similarly, we are expecting more of the same with the second firmware batch.
Here we have another 5.0.1 software update that stays on the same numbers, but comes with a new build number. You know that build number as LRX21T.G900FXXU1BNL7. Since it stays on the same main 5.0.1 number, don’t expect many features joining the firmware. That said, we know the total file size of the new installment is 371.33MB. Anything heading toward half a gigabyte is substantial. That means two things: it will be well worth upgrading to the new edition and you want to use the home WiFi and not the mobile data plan to avoid unwanted data charges. Additionally, the WiFi works faster and you skip all the network traffic. High traffic results in unstable connection at times, so it’s best to avoid those when you can. If you don’t have any WiFi options that’s OK too. However, we recommend taking a full backup of the data existing on the smartphone. That way nothing is lost including phone contacts, SMS texts, call logs, pictures, music and video.
There is no official change-log arriving with the update. We do have the official OTA file you can flash if you want to skip waiting for the over the air signals. You can grab that file from Sam Mobile here. We are predicting the installment to come with mainly bug fixes to the existing OS even though the total MB size is high. Furthermore, the next update we predict to find is the 5.0.2 software update that hopefully comes with some new features, similarly to what the earlier Android KitKat did with their release. It wasn’t until we saw the 4.4.2 number rolling that we had significant features.
Those keen for flashing the file manually must do so through the official Odin application. Any version from Odin 3.07 to Odin 3.09 will work well. Conversely, those waiting for the OTA arriving over the air should understand that it rolls out in phases to all owners. That means you may be waiting several days until it reaches your specific device if you don’t have it already. All you have to do is accept the system notification by tapping “download,” followed by “install now’ and wait for the rest to happen automatically. Don’t switch the phone off until the flashing finishes.
