A brand new firmware has just been released for the Saudi Arabia region also known as KSA. It will boost the performance up to XXUANC1 Android 4.2.2 and although that is far from the benchmark of today’s KitKat, it is still going to be better than the older version you were on so always take advantage of these updates when they become available.

If you want to learn more details, it has the PDA number of T110XXUANC1 and the CSC build of T110OJVANA5. This version was first unveiled on the 3rd of April 2014 and has been made for the Lite SM-T110 model only. Do not attempt to connect this on any additional model number because it was not made for it and it could potentially harm other devices.

Jelly Bean 4.4.2

Some of the stand out features for the 4.2.2 Jelly Bean include the estimating time remaining after downloading an application from the Google Play Store. Instead of guessing it, now will give a minute amount underneath the app itself which is pretty cool. Quick Panel toggles are different, tapping and holding the Bluetooth icon and the new sounds when charging. Wireless charging is new and low battery notification sound is also altered. They both sound similar. Again these are not necessarily features new to this small build, but they are the main changes in the big 4.2.2 update.

 Checklist

  •  Backup all of your data and settings from the device’s internal memory or the SD card you can buy from all good electronic shops. There is also the alternative of syncing with Samsung KIES.
  •  There is no need to fret about how much battery charge is remaining because as soon as we plug the tablet into the Windows-based computer it will automatically start charging. All electronic devices are made to work as charges as long as they are plugged in via the USB cable.
  •  The same USB cable that you connect the tablet to the charger with when you recharge normally can be used to connect it to the computer. We need this cord.
  •  During this guide, we will be using the ODIN application and it is made for Windows-based PC’s only and not the Apple mac or Linux. There is nothing against the other two operating systems it is just that more people run Windows and, therefore, the develop caters for them instead. Most of us at least know of somebody with a Windows OS so even if you cannot use one directly, there should be somebody you know that can help you out.
  •  Temporarily disable any antivirus and antimalware software that is running on the computer and also the Android tablet. It is known to interfere with proceedings. Always remember to switch it back on again before browsing the internet to stay safe in the long run.
  •  Enable USB Debugging Mode from the Developer Options menu. Go to Settings > developer Options. If this is not unlocked yet then go to Settings > About Phone And tap on the build number seven times. There is no need to count because after three or four goes it will start counting you down and tell you how many shots remaining until it is unlocked.
  •  Most of you will have the correct USB drivers already. In case you do not have them up to date them click here for the Samsung USB drivers.

How To Flash Android 4.2.2 XXUANC1 official firmware On The Samsung galaxy tab 3 Lite

1. Download the KSA-T110XXUANC1-20140407152709.zip  firmware file here.

2. Download Odin 3.09 here.

3. Extract the contents of both files to the desktop. It can also be done to anywhere on the C Drive, but we recommend the desktop so you do not lose it. From there it is easy to delete also and to permanently delete it do not forget to empty it out of the recycling bin!

4. Boot the tab Lite in Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down + Power + Home buttons at the same time. Wait until the Android logo appears before taking your fingers off the screen.

5. Plug the USB cable into the bottom of the tablet.

6. Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on the computer. It is often towards the bottom of the machine or at the back.

7. Open the ODIN app and ensure it is running with Administrator permissions by right clicking on the icon first and checking.

8. Click the PDA button inside ODIN

9. Upload the firmware tar.md5 file to this field.

10. Double check everything is in perfect order.

11. Click the start button in ODIN and the flashing will begin. Do not touch anything from this point on until it gives out a “pass” message on the screen.

12. Shut down the ODIN app and disconnect the Galaxy tab properly by right clicking the “safely remove hardware” icon in the taskbar. From here, proceed to stop the USB device that is being used and it will prompt you when it is safe to remove.

13. Disconnect it from the computer and away you go.

To check that it has installed successfully you can go into Settings > About Phone and then under Android Version it will list the current build you are on. It should correspond with the 4.2.2 number we have here. If it does then you know it has been successful and you can start checking out some of the features I mentioned earlier that highlight this particular build.
