The following guide teaches you how to unroot the Samsung Galaxy Core GT-I8260.
The guide is also useful if you are suffering from any soft brick problems like getting stuck in boot loop and your operating system won’t load. Here’s what you must do:
The Files You Need
Download the stock ROM for your country below:
Download the Odin flashing app from our page. You can use any version. We recommend trying Odin 3.07 or 3.09 first.
Download the Samsung USB Drivers for mobile phones.
You can only follow this guide if you are using a Windows PC. The Odin tool we are using does not work on a different type of operating system. Furthermore, you must only follow this guide if you own the GT-I8260 variant of the galaxy Core. You can find out the model number of yours by heading to the Settings > About Device menu.
Unrooting the Samsung Galaxy Core GT-I8260
- Download the firmware stock ROM from the link above for your country.
- Unzip the stock ROM and the Odin tool on the desktop so you can use them.
- Double-click and open the Odin app.
- Completely power off the Samsung Galaxy Core if it’s on at the moment.
- Reboot it to the download mode so we can connect it to the PC. Do that by holding the Power + Home + Volume Down buttons for about 5 seconds.
- Press the Volume Up button if you if get to a warning screen to finish getting in the download mode.
- Now you are ready to connect the device to the Windows PC. Find the USB cable and connect one end of the computer where you have Odin and the stock ROm waiting.
- Connect the other end of the USB cable to your device.
- Odin should now detect your device and change the color of the ID: COM port if the Samsung driver is working.
- Click the PDA or AP button with Odin and browse the desktop/computer for the firmware file/stock ROM. You must have unzipped the stock ROM before you’ll see the firmware file in the folder.
- Click the Start button in the Odin app without adjusting any of the default Settings in Odin.
- For those who don’t already know, that means making sure the re-partition box is empty; the Auto reboot and F Reset Time options are marked.
After some minutes the stock ROM will be flashed on your device and you’ll have a unrooted Samsung Galaxy Core smartphone.
